Barcelona - Day 2
This day took everything we had... So much so that I couldn't stay awake last night to write a post about it!!!
We started with a wonderful tour with Conchita, a Barcelona native and expert on Gaudí. We took the bus around all of Barelona and were amazed by its size. We finally got on our feet at the Park Güell, which was Gaudí's idea of what he wanted all of Barcelona to look like with walkways, unique architectural structures, and benches to bring the families of Barcelona together. It was just beautiful and awe-inspiring.
We toured more of Barcelona where we were able to see the Olympic park from 1992 and ended in front of the incredible Sagrada Familia, yet another brilliant creation of Gaudí. They have been working on it for over 120 years and hope to have it done by 2026 (100 years after his death).

We continued walking and spent more time at the beach in Barcelona, less so for swimming than for relaxing. We were able to visit Las Ramblas, a long avenue of shopping booths where we got to do some souvenir shopping.

Finally, we had a delicious dinner with paella, but with chicken this time. No crazy seafood this time. By the end of the night we were absolutely spent. We took the metro back to the hotel and I think everyone crashed pretty quickly. Tomorrow we will be on our way to Madrid and to see Zaragoza on the way. Buenas noches.
